Book, Mamma Mia! How Can I Resist You?: The Inside Story of Mamma Mia! and the Songs of ABBA
In the 1970’s, the Swedish musical phenomenon known as ABBA—Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad—succeeded in reinventing the world’s perception of pop. They produced hit after catchy hit, each one instantly recognizable, infectious, and irresistible. Nearly a quarter of a century later, these beloved songs gave birth to the blockbuster musical MAMMA MIA!, which became a legend in its own right. It opened in 85 cities and has since been seen by more than 20 million people throughout the world. This officially sanctioned book tells the double story of the band and the play—and it’s told by those know it best: two of the group’s singer/songwriters and MAMMA MIA! producer Judy Craymer. It’s colorful literally and figuratively, and jam-packed with illustrations from the group’s own archives. Through first-person recollections from ABBA members, intertwined with commentary from the MAMMA MIA! team, Thank You for the Music cuts through the thicket of myths and misconceptions that have grown up around ABBA to reveal what actually happened.

Book, Sex: How to Do Everything
Synopsis
In a totally fresh and appealing take on the subject, SEX is a completely new kind of sex book. This is a sex book for people who like having sex, who want to have more, and want to know how to do everything better. Unlike other sex manuals, which try to solve problems with sex, this is a book for people who love sex and want to expand their horizons. Written by the young, hip "super-sexpert" duo Em and Lo of nerve.com notoriety, this book promises to be as witty and cool as it is instructive. It's a fun and energetic romp with over 300 explicit and authentic, but beautiful, "live" shots by renowned fashion and portrait photographer, Rankin.
Publishers Weekly
This latest, full-color installment from former Nerve.com "sex advisers" Em & Lo (The Big Bang) bemoans sterile sex manuals that take all the fun and mystery out of sex. Their latest and most comprehensive guide tackles every variety of sexual congress and the minutiae of seduction, fantasy, filming erotic videos and capped with the obligatory public-service "sexual health" section. The text is concise and clear, replete with (fairly familiar) puns ("there's the rub," "the ties that bind")-but the real draw isn't the information, all of which is available elsewhere in more detail-it's the pictures. The images shot by the influential British fashion and portrait photographer Rankin feature a range of aesthetically pleasing yet satisfyingly real-looking and ethnically diverse-although exclusively heterosexual-couples that are soft-core, but still racy enough to inspire "naughty ideas," one of the authors' stated aims. Biography
Ellen Sussman is the bestselling author of On a Night Like This and editor of the anthology Bad Girls. She lives in Los Altos Hills, California.
Book, Yesterday: The Beatles Once Upon a Time
Yesterday: The Beatles Once Upon A Time documents the Beatles and the city of their birth during the making of their first film, A Hard Day's Night, in 1964. It captures the rhythm and texture of the tough English port city where the smell of cigarettes and seawater mingled and the strains of pop music were transformed by an early 1960s music scene that gave birth to the Mersey Beat and the greatest band of all time.
Before they achieved world fame, the Beatles perfected their craft in another port of call, the northern German city of Hamburg. There they met Astrid Kirchherr, a budding photographer who became close friends with the band and later was engaged to the Beatles' original bass player, Stuart Sutcliffe. Some four years later—by which time the Beatles had conquered the world—Kirchherr with Max Scheler visited the band and took the photographs that appear in this book. Kirchherr and Scheler focused on the Beatles in private and public moments, during the filming, and also on the city itself, on the streets, the music scene, the people, evoking for us today the gritty humor and passion of 1960s Liverpudlians.
This book offers a moving testament to the inspirational effect of the Beatles' success on their hometown as well as an important chapter of the Beatles' almost- mythic story.

Rolling with the Stones Hardcover Book
FROM THE PUBLISHER
A backstage pass to the Rolling Stones from Bill Wyman, founder of the Rolling Stones.
The Rolling Stones, commonly referred to as the world's greatest rock 'n' roll band, epitomize everything that's excessive, lavish, exciting, and powerful about rock music. Now, founding member and bass player Bill Wyman presents an honest and humorous account that serves as a backstage pass to the band's history, from drug busts, to tax exile, to solo careers. Straight from Wyman's huge personal archive, Rolling with the Stones features previously unreleased letters, photographs, memorabilia, and personal journals. With over 2000 photographs, more than 45 beautifully designed tour spreads, song lists from every show, and biographies on each band member, there is no need for any other Stones book to be written.
FROM THE CRITICS
Publishers Weekly
Wyman's obsession makes for a Rolling Stones fan's delight. While this tome has the visual treats of a coffee-table book, categorizing it as such betrays the rich text within. The Stones' bassist for nearly four decades, Wyman appears to have ruined it for all Stones biographers past, present and future. A tireless collector, he offers rare photographs and letters, press clippings, tour posters and record sleeves. And thanks to either reams of diaries or marvelous powers of recall unaffected by decades spent in a hard-partying rock band, he provides copious historical and observational data as well. Wyman, teaming up again with Havers (Bill Wyman's Blues Odyssey), gives even short-tenured band mates commensurate face time and portrays the good times, like the band's first visit to America in 1964, and the bad, such as the time Wyman went out to score heroin for a sick-and recently busted-Keith Richards in 1977. Among the memorable photographs are a fit and trim Richards in swimwear on a 1968 Australia tour and a three-shot sequence of Mick Jagger, Jerry Hall and a paparazzo, during which Jagger confronts the shutterbug and ends up on his back on the sidewalk. Wyman shows humility and humor by including his quote from '67: "It's alright leaping about the stage when you're 20, but when you get to 25 or 26 it gets a bit embarrassing." It's too bad the book stops in 1990, when Wyman, well past the age of embarrassment, stopped touring with the band. (Oct.) Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.
